The bottom is marked "Limoges France / Peint Main / Rochard" meaning it was made in Limoges France, Hand Painted, and the Artisan's name is Rochard. The small box is hinged and open up to a small compartment. The top and bottom are held secure with a fish-shaped clasp. The porclain piece is on the smaller side measuring 1.6 inches long x 1.7 inches wide x 3.3 inches tall, and weighs 2.1 ounces.
