Pair of Deva spirit rattles made by renowned Raku Pottery artist Nan Emmett. Beautiful black raku glaze with dark brown matte finish faces carved into the tops of each. Each one is unique from another since they are handmade. Unsigned. Made in the 1980's. These are highly sought after and hard to find for sale, especially a pair.
Originally these were sold with a card that said "Throughout time rattles have been used for healing, calling down the spirits and as a soothing active form of meditation. Handcrafted from clay and rake fired these deva rattles bring together the elements of earth, fire and water. They are both a sculpture and a rattle created to comfort, heal and celebrate life.
